Hey! I'm Teacher Porsha! (She/her) (fully vaccinated) Due to the Pandemic, I became an unemployed professional dancer with little hopes for the future. In October 2020, I created Pixie Pods! I LOVE teaching kids and wanted to offer a way for kids to play, imagine, and dance safely during this Pandemic. I'm looking forward to teaching, dancing, and having fun with your little one.
I was born in Rota, Spain and raised in Abingdon, MD. At a local studio, I took my first ballet class when I was 7 years old. I quickly fell in love with movement and never stopped dancing! I furthered my dance training at Baltimore School for the Arts. In 2014, I graduated from The Ailey School/Fordham University with a BFA in Dance and a minor in Business Administration. I'm grateful to have a 7 year (so far) Professional performance career! Truly a dream come true! My favorite credits include: Disney Cruise Line, SNL, FX's Pose, Memphis, and "Tiger Lily" in Peter Pan 360.
Hi! I’m Teacher Nicole Crowl! (She/her) (fully vaccinated) I am from Cleveland, OH but I recently moved to NYC to pursue my career. I have an Acrobatic Arts Certification and a bachelor’s degree in Dance Performance from Kent State University. While attending school I led student organizations such as, East Meets West and the Student Dance Education Organization. I also had the opportunity to study dance and culture in Bangkok, Thailand, and perform at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
My love for teaching began at the age of 15 when I became an assistant teacher at my dance studio. I have experience teaching acrobatics, tap, jazz, ballet, modern, contemporary, and competitive dance. One of my favorite things about teaching is when a student has been persistently working on a certain skill, or task, and they finally succeed! Just seeing the pure excitement on their faces after their accomplishment, brings me nothing but joy!
